I hope your 2025 has started with hope, optimism, good health, and happiness in your corner of the universe. I’ve enjoyed some quiet days alone to fill in my calendar and consider my intentions for this year. Nothing wild, just continued forward momentum toward doing what is important to me.

I’m having a yard sale this weekend. I’ve cleared things out here and there through the years, but have held on to the last of these items out some sense of… obligation? Maybe former importance? But as I unpacked tubs in the garage and set things out on tables, I felt excited to have these things find new homes. Whatever isn’t picked up by someone will be donated. It’s not that I need the space or the cash or that I’m moving and don’t want to take these things with me. Much of it is tied to an old part of my life, one that isn’t important to me anymore.

Before getting ready for the this weekend, I spent time preparing my habit trackers. No habit-ing has happened yet, but space and time are opening up. One of those habits is to write every day. I do write every day, just not always in a project. And if my intention this year is to publish my writing projects, then that is where the writing needs to happen. I’ll get there.

How has your 2025 started?
