Chipping Away in the Word Mine

Last week I announced the release of Building Fluency: Math Vocabulary. This week I have an update on the other two projects.

The cover designers came through with a great cover for The Lost Gift. I asked for one change. I’m waiting for the new file. I have completed all but one of the little steps needed for publishing this romantic suspense holiday novella. I read it aloud and made some edits. I used an editing software that thankfully caught what my eyes and ears missed. I wrote the description. I sent an email with copy to a graphic person for the A+ content for Amazon. The last step is to format. That should take about fifteen minutes with Vellum. Next week. I’ll probably share a bit of the story in this blog.

The third project, the anthology, that I’ve been working on for almost a year is still in production. Some edits are still being done on the stories from writer three. Writer four returned one of four stories. I’m going to refrain from reporting further on this project until we’re ready to publish. Maybe December?

Since I’ve been wrapping up my second project this week, my mind had wandered into the word mine. What is the next manuscript to be written? I have a short story destined for the illustrated collection that is half done. A few thousand words and I can send it to the illustrator. After that, book three in the Waldman Investigations series is up next.

I’ll go through my files and find more stories related to the theme of the illustrated short story collection. I suppose I should check for the next story in the Gift series. I would like to publish it by December, but we all know how that will turn out. Ha! If I take a moment to focus on the series I’ve started and not finished, scenes easily come to mind. Time is needed to put the words into the car and push it to the surface. Since my mind set change, my process has stayed the same. It’s just my approach that has shifted. With 46 titles now published, I look forward to the next project. How many projects do you have lined up?
