The first full week of 2026 is done, and for me, it still feels like that in-between time, that pause I wrote about last week. Maybe it’s because I’ve extended my hard deadline on completing the huge project with my class materials. Perhaps it’s because I’ve yet to begin the 3 small daily habits I intend to add this year. Whatever the reason, I’m glad for this space.
I have 2 concepts left. My web designer has done a fantastic job putting things in place. I checked out the new tab today, and if I thought I had not much to show for the last five months of work in the office, seeing what I’ve created, digitized, and packaged displayed in a place where others could find it and might be of benefit to them makes me feel happy. It’s similar to when I think about how long I’ve been writing and publishing books, then realize I have 50 titles available.
My intentions for 2026 are written and sitting on the bookshelf next to my desk. I chose intentions that will move me forward not just in the short term, but will contribute to different pieces of my life for a long time. I think coming up with the right intentions for the current place I’m at in my journey is the hardest part. It’s easy to have lofty goals, to wish for the stars. I think it takes more effort to hone the words and the energy behind the intentions. Too broad, and they can be overwhelming. Too narrow, and it’s like a task on a to-do list. I’m grateful for having done the reflection of the past year and gaining clarity on my path forward. For the next week or so, I can coast on those intentions as I satisfy myself with wrapping up a major project so there’s no reason to revisit the millions of pieces I’ve handled these last months. Then, my creativity can shift to words, and I can immerse myself in those intentions.
