Time passes independently of our wants. On most nights this week, when I sat down to journal out my day (not really a diary, but a place to put thoughts and reflections), I could list what I did, but not account for what seemed like hours of the day. Some tasks were crossed off my to-do list, but not all, and the list wasn’t long. Perhaps planets have aligned, or are out of alignment, or there’s eclipse energy tweaking my perception of time.
I feel good about having the classroom materials I created organized. Two tubs worth of papers and file folders ended up in the recycle bin. Before I’m done, I think more will be recycled rather than digitized. I also have made notes about what to change or add to make packets and kits to help kids learn content. I have three tubs on the floor to my left, and my stack of spiral notebooks for my stories on my right.
I asked one of the contributors to the anthology to write the book description. After a week and not hearing back, I checked in with her. She couldn’t come up with anything clever, so I put together the description so all the details could be sent to the company who will make the cover. The manuscript is with a beta reader. I’m hoping to get it back by the end of the month.
My queue of projects is long. I don’t have a deadline, which, the way time is currently working in my life, is a good thing. I think it would pass by without me even noticing.
