Too many events this week to keep my attention on one thing. An upcoming (hopefully) problem fixed (though my anxiety isn’t convinced), health concerns, book marketing, and navigating all the rabbit holes of information have taken time away from deep breaths and writing. In times like these, my mind convinces me that life used to be easier.
I did spend time with the education project. I think I’ll simplify it further by separating the blog posts into what works for the book and what doesn’t. I’m editing each post as I read and decide if the information is worthwhile. I don’t think it needs to be complicated or all inclusive. Just presented in an understandable way that might offer helpful hints.
Last Saturday I attended a Zoom presentation on how authors can use Pinterest. I thought I had an account years ago. I searched for myself, but nothing came up. So, I get to create a new account and play with graphics. It might be fun. This led me to search (one of the rabbit holes) about other platforms authors can use for book discoverability. I read some articles and deleted some tabs. I’m not looking for more of the same of what I’ve tried in the past and haven’t been successful at, but something different that might work. I’ll share a link if I get new accounts set up.
Other personal issues have come to the forefront. I can’t ignore them. I can reach out to others to help handle these situations or listen to my concerns as I attempt to navigate possible solutions. Here is where the rabbit holes can be all consuming.
With my focus shifting from the writing project to solving a problem to accepting what is to juggling information to keeping all my routines going and helping my clients, I feel like I need a time out. Or, playing with a new platform and making notes from webinars might give the mini breaks I’m looking for. Of course, time with Holly and Lady are the best balm for my heart. They are a comforting place to rest my focus.
