Show Some Love

Happy first Friday in February! I hope this month for all of us is like the road above, shaded, smooth, beneath blue skies, and edged by green grass. In a time where good news is sometimes hard to come by, one friend got engaged (and shared the sweetest proposal!), another is building a house, and a third is celebrating 69 trips around the sun. Love, love, love to hear about positive things in life.

My newsletter goes out today. I included some cool promos, an essay that will be included in My Voice, Volume 2, and the first chapter in the novella The Hidden Gift. Because life and one’s plans don’t always match, I was unable to do final edits on The Hidden Gift before the newsletter went out. My subscribers will get a special email in a couple of weeks with directions on how to get their copy. I’ll announce here when the book is live on all platforms. And yes, I am still working on The Bookie, Waldman Investigations Book 2.

My cover designer is making her way through the list of tasks I’ve given her, including audio book covers, hardback covers, and creating new covers for The Tanner Trilogy. I’ll share the new covers when they’re ready. She reminds me that we all have different strengths and skills and abilities. It’s tough to not compare oneself to others, to stick to our own path. Sometimes that’s easier to know and harder to keep from checking boxes on a list of haves/have nots. I hope you have a peaceful, healthy, and happy week.

So, I’m doing it Wrong

Photo by Michele Venne After 14 years, I would think that I've got things down. I understand my process. I know what trips me up. And I know how to get back to what I want to do. And yet... since I'm part of the publishing industry, it's my responsibility to keep tabs...

New Ideas

Photo by Michele Venne I heard a few things this week that tweaked my ears. Listening to one of my favorite podcasts, the host interviewed an author that used to have her own podcast. They talked about writing and if anything will change in 2023. The author didn't...
