Small Wins

I finally finished the second part of the anthology story 🙂 I knew I would be over my 5K word limit we loosely agreed on for each part, totaling 20K words. I’m over by 2K. I need to fix a few plot threads, so that will add words. I’m sure the others will make suggestions as to where I can cut a sentence or phrase.

I can usually work on several projects at once, even different fiction stories. However, I find my words flow more easily recently when I continue with one story. I plan to fix those plot holes, then write the next part. I don’t want to be the reason our soft deadline is pushed back or that we don’t publish until summer.

I haven’t done anything with the other projects. I was sure that once I whittled my to-do list down to 3 tasks, that space would appear for more writing. However, some of that space is filled with me once again teaching yoga. I find that it helps with my state of mind, whether I’m teaching it or attending a class.

For the moment, I’m going to celebrate the small win of finishing part 2 of the story. I can also celebrate crossing off everything I’ve put on my daily task list. (This helps me keep up with life stuff, what I sometimes let slide, then it piles up to be a bigger deal that it should be.) Have you had a small win to celebrate recently?
